What is the purpose of the study?
The purpose of the study is to understand and characterize communicative participation for adolescents with and without developmental disabilities. Data collected in this study will be used to inform the design and development of participation-focused interventions for adolescents with developmental disabilities.
Who is eligible?
You may be eligible to join if:
- You are 28-55 years old.
- You are an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist.
- You have at least 3 years of experience working with adolescents with speech impairment.
What does participation involve?
- You will briefly listen to audio clips of an adolescent's speech sample, orthographically transcribe what you hear, and rate the perceptual features of the speech sample.
- One session (i.e., tasks for one adolescent speech sample) lasts between 30-60 minutes.
- You may complete up to five sessions.
- Participation may be done virtually or at the University of Arizona.
Is there compensation?
- Participation in the study is free and voluntary.
- You will receive one $10 Visa Gift Card for each session completed (up to 5 sessions).
